Chinese Concept is based in Shanghai and run by Fan Gao who works with a few other selected freelance English to Chinese translators. Here is a brief history of the development of Chinese Concept:
2006
Chinese Concept was founded by Fan Gao (Chinese) and Mark Amy (British) in Nanjing in March 2006. We were successful from the very beginning with our concept of two natives working together as well as our hard work and attention to details. During the first week after its foundation, we received our first project, a 10,000-Chinese character doctoral dissertation to be translated from Chinese to English, and we completed it in one week. Our client's feedback was: "Very prompt, professional, accurate, reliable."
2007
2007 was a year of development, and we established a solid client base with whom we have worked up to now. We began to work with a few selected English to Chinese translators.
2008
Even with the economic calamity during the latter half of the year, 2008 was still a year that we are proud of. This year alone, we translated over one million words. We became a Certified PRO English to Chinese translator with the world’s largest online translation community Proz.com.
2009
Our business volume boomed in January after the quiet December 2008, and this year so far has become the busiest year. Our office moved to Shanghai in March. Mark Amy left Chinese Concept in June after his three years of accomplishments with Chinese Concept. Fan Gao decided to concentrate solely on English to Chinese translation and Chinese copywriting which are his strengths.
